About The Authors

The Forget-About-It Guide was written and conceived by John Furgurson with help, inspiration and guidance from Andy Heinly, PGA Professional. Andy’s simple teaching philosophy and John’s friendly writing style combine to make this a fun, engaging book that will have a lasting, positive effect your game.

Each chapter contains quotes from some of golf’s most legendary figures, such as Tiger Woods, Ben Hogan and Sam Snead. And every section has practical advice that is applicable to golfers of any ability.

Andy Heinly

Andy Heinly has a natural talent for the game of golf and a remarkable gift for coaching. He’s been teaching golf for 20 years and has held positions at some of Oregon’s finest clubs, including Broken Top, The Reserve, and Pumpkin Ridge. While at Pumpkin Ridge, Andy oversaw the tournament operations at the 1996 U.S. Amateur Championship where Tiger Woods won an unprecedented third straight title.

Andy’s popularity in Northwest golf circles is well known, and his “less is more” approach to teaching attracts students from all over the West. He also teaches other pros to be better instructors and helps coach a number of junior golf teams. He has had his own golf talk show on the radio in two markets and is currently working on Central Oregon’s first televised golf program. If he’s not giving golf lessons he’s probably coaching one of his three kids on a little league basketball, baseball or football team.
